Requirements

Interpreters are responsible for facilitating communication between individuals or groups who do not share a common language.

​

The primary duties:

  • Simultaneous Interpretation: Providing immediate, spoken translation of speech from one language to another during live conversations, meetings, conferences, or other events.

  • Consecutive Interpretation: Listening to a speaker's remarks, taking notes, and then providing a concise, accurate translation of the content to the other party.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with clients, speakers, and other interpreters to ensure clear and effective communication, address any issues or concerns, and provide updates on project progress.

  • Ethical Conduct: Maintain confidentiality, impartiality, and professionalism when interpreting sensitive or confidential information.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with changes in language, industry-specific terminology, and interpretation best practices to provide the highest quality work.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in translations, linguistics, foreign language, or a related field

  • Fluency in at least two languages

  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to speak clearly and concisely in both languages

  • Excellent listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

  • Experience in the specific industry or domain (e.g., legal, medical, business)

  • Proficiency in specialized interpretation equipment and software

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments

  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality
